1) What is the Private Assessment Session?
Every new student begins with a 30-minute Private Assessment Session. This one-on-one session helps us understand your goals, introduce you to Don Jitsu Ryu, and determine the best starting point.
Cost: $50 (credited toward your sign-up fee if you enroll within 7 days).
2) How does the enrollment process work?
After your assessment, you’ll choose a training plan (2x/week, 5x/week, or unlimited) and complete a short enrollment form. You’ll receive your Warrior Starter Bundle, which includes:
- Official embroidered Purple Dragon uniform
- Don Jitsu Ryu belt
- Grandmaster Jacob’s book Flesh & Bone
- Purple Dragon USA patch
You can begin training right away.
3) When will I receive my first uniform and belt?
Your uniform and belt are issued immediately after enrollment. We’ll ensure your uniform fits properly before your first official class.
4) What should I expect during my first class?
Expect structure, encouragement, and real training. We start with a warm-up, then fundamentals, technique drills, and partner/team exercises—within a respectful environment focused on authentic progress.
5) What age groups do you serve?
- 4–6 years: Tiny Dragons (Beginners)
- 7–12 years: Young Dragons (Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced)
- 13+ years: Teen & Adult Classes (All Ranks)

8) What should I wear to my assessment or first class?
We ask all prospective students to be modestly and fully clothed out of respect for the Dojo environment. Athletic wear is acceptable, provided it is non-revealing and allows full range of motion. Once enrolled, your official Purple Dragon uniform should always be clean, pressed, and worn with pride.
9) Where can I find the class schedule?
