Every student at Purple Dragon ATL begins with a $50 Private Assessment. This is not a trial class or a free sample. It is a scheduled, one-on-one professional evaluation, the same way training begins for every brother and sister in the Dojo.
Your Private Assessment is a 30-minute, one-on-one session with a certified Purple Dragon ATL instructor. It is designed to evaluate where you or your child belongs in our training system, so that the first day of class is productive, safe, and appropriate to your level.
When the assessment is finished, you will not be handed a brochure and asked to think about it. You will be told exactly what we recommend and why.
Once you enroll, your Warrior Starter Bundle covers the uniform, registration, and official enrollment in the Dojo. From there, the work begins.
Membership at Purple Dragon ATL starts at 3x per week. More time on the mat means more repetition, more correction, and more opportunities to grow.
Grading examinations are held twice a year, with fees from $175 to $275 depending on the rank being tested. The fee covers the grading assessment itself and is not a payment for a belt. Sparring gear, additional uniforms, and Don Jitsu Ryu literature are needed as students progress. Seminars and events are optional and priced individually. Nothing is added to your monthly draft without your knowing.

No. The assessment is designed for complete beginners as well as students with prior martial arts training. Your instructor will evaluate you at your current level and recommend the right starting point, regardless of your background.
Comfortable athletic clothing — t-shirt, shorts or athletic pants. No jeans, no zippers, no jewelry. Training is done barefoot, so no special shoes are needed. If you enroll, your uniform is included in the Warrior Starter Bundle.

Yes, in two ways. Your total to begin — assessments plus the Warrior Starter Bundle — is priced by household size: $135 for one student, $225 for two, $315 for three, and $405 for four. Assessments are $50 per student and count toward those totals, so at enrollment within 7 days your family pays only the remainder plus each student’s first month of tuition. Monthly tuition carries a household discount: 10% off for two students, 15% for three, 20% for four, and 25% for five. Your exact household rates are confirmed in writing at your assessment.
